A note from Jen

Hi and Welcome!

I have been capturing pregnancy and baby portraiture around the lower mainland for the past 14 years. I have an absolute passion for this business and I can't imagine devoting my life to anything else. I am also a mom of two boys, and they are my greatest achievement. Life is full, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Growing up, my friends' bedroom walls were covered in posters of pop culture teen idols, and the latest boy band with acid-washed jeans from Mademoiselle magazine tear outs.

My bedroom was a stark contrast. Adorned with 'Anne Geddes Baby' calendars and prints; photos of tiny babies in little planter pots and asleep on the neck of a guitar. I was enamoured with the beauty of these sweet babies and Anne Geddes was at the height of her career. It wasn't a thought in my mind that one day I might be able to create that kind of photo art myself ~ because back then, the typical "newborn photo" was just a passport mug shot in the bassinet at the hospital the day you were born. It wasn't a niche of professional photography for the every day family yet. So I took every opportunity I had to hold babies, and fulfilled my creative side with a career as a Graphic Designer for many years after university.

But then, I became a mom.

And right in front of me, I had this tiny subject - my own beautiful baby and I wanted to capture every moment. This was 2004 and it would be still 5 years of practicing with every baby I could get my hands on, mentoring with other established photographers and really learning everything there was to know about the art of newborn and maternity photography before I took the plunge and started to make a living at something I loved. 

And Eyeris Photography was born in 2008.

Documenting the fresh faces of little ones and those milestone moments in child's life, I feel honoured to provide timeless portraits for parents as they grow their families. I meet the most wonderful families! Another big perk of this job is getting to know all of you. 

I have been fortunate enough to photograph over 1,800 babies and children in Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. No two sessions are the same, just as no two children are, even twins! Based out of my Langley home studio, I come to you with many years of expertise, a passion for photography and the ability to create fine art by capturing the unique beauty in every child I photograph.
